Most US citizens are struggling with the high cholesterol nightmare. With the heart disease being one of the top killer diseases within the US, it makes sense to be concerned because lives are being lost. The medications which are prescribed to treat high cholesterol are also bringing forth additional issues.

It is dangerous to take statins – part of the medications prescribed to those with high cholesterol. Statins were created by pharmaceuticals to help reduce cholesterol levels. What many people don’t know is that the drugs are toxic and may lead to death. The main aim of these companies if to make profits off the drugs without minding the health of those who take them.

Those who take statins interfere with the body’s ability to produce coenzyme Q10 – that helps in maintaining blood pressure, boosting muscle and heart health, and supporting the nervous and immune system. With that in mind, it is better to treat yourself naturally without taking the toxic medications. You can reduce cholesterol with the help of Brazil nuts – which are harmless and effective.

Studies on the capability of Brazil nuts to treat cholesterol were done on many instances. On one study, adults between 23-34 years ate different quantities of the nuts in four different instances. The adults also ate a balanced diet and they had their blood samples taken at different occasions – say during the first day, after 2 days, 5 days, and then 30 days. Also when they had not eaten the nuts, and eating 5g, 20g, and 50g of the nuts.

Their overall cholesterol balance rapidly improved after taking the 20g Brazil nuts and 50g Brazil nuts doses. After 9 hours, their bad cholesterol (LDL) levels significantly fell and attained stability after 48 hours. Good cholesterol (high density lipoproteins) levels also increased. The increase was noted at six hours after taking the nuts and attained stability at day 5.

Even after 30 days the positive effects were still present and they could have been recorded past that point if the study could have been prolonged. Additionally, these nuts offer extra nutritional benefits such as vitamins and antioxidants. These nuts also have selenium, a supplement that helps in regulation of cholesterol levels.
