As we have opted to feed more on processed foods, cases of heart attacks have also risen. Symptoms of these terrifying moments are not the same in men and women – not all heart attacks start with chest pains.

Even though men are the most affect, women also suffer heart attacks and show symptoms that differ from those of men.
It is estimated that one woman gets this disease after every 80 seconds and the disease kills around 44 million women annually. Chest pain is the most common symptom associated with heart attacks. Tingling and numbness in both or one of your arms might then follow. You can mistake those signs and assume you have had flu.
Surprisingly, women can suffer heart attacks without experiencing chest pain. They can experience dizziness, extreme fatigue, upper back pressure, fainting or lightheadedness, pain or pressure in upper abdomen or lower chest or shortness of breath.
Additional symptoms that women might experience during a heart attack include:
- The center of the chest might experience pain or fullness, squeezing or uncomfortable pressure.
- Both or one of your arms, stomach, jaw, neck or back might experience discomfort or pain
- Shortness of breath which might be accompanied by chest pain
- Lightheadedness, nausea, or cold sweat
